Senior Data Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer you will design, build, and maintain a cloud‑native data platform on AWS that powers analytics and data‑driven decision‑making across the organization. You will collaborate closely with Data Analysts and Data Scientists, leading technical initiatives and delivering high‑performance, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate AWS data infrastructure, including data lakes and warehouses.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest and transform large data sets.
• Ensure data solutions are secure, cost‑effective, and highly available.
• Partner with analytics and data science teams to provide reliable data access.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and enforce best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional data engineering experience, preferably in production AWS environments.
• Advanced English proficiency (B2+).
• Current residence in Colombia.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, or Database Specialty) are a plus.

Required skills

• AWS services: S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Lake Formation, Kinesis.
• Programming: Python, SQL, PySpark.
• Workflow orchestration: Apache Airflow.
• Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
• Version control: Git.
• Knowledge of AWS security, monitoring, and cost‑optimization best practices.
