Senior Data Scientist - Generative AI

About the role

PRGX, a global provider of source-to-pay data analytics and software, is hiring a Senior Data Scientist in Medellin, Colombia. The role focuses on building and deploying generative AI models, particularly for text generation and semantic entity extraction, and requires fluent English and authorization to work in Colombia without sponsorship.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy generative AI models focused on text generation and semantic entity extraction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs, define project scopes and set up data-driven solutions.
• Mentor junior data scientists and interns on best practices and industry standards.
• Stay up to date with the latest research and advances in Generative AI.
• Work with engineering and product teams to integrate models into production environments.
• Maintain documentation for models, algorithms and processes, and ensure quality, performance and security standards.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer, including deploying Generative AI solutions in production.
• Experience with RAG, fine-tuning LLMs, prompt tuning, graph RAGs and knowledge graphs.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues and interns.
• Authorization to work in Colombia without sponsorship; fluent English.

Required skills

• Machine learning, deep learning and probabilistic modeling.
• PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, Scikit-learn and Keras.
• Data pipelines and server-side frameworks such as FastAPI, with API development and versioning.
• AWS, GCP or Azure, Jenkins, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Python and Git.
