Senior Frontend Engineer (React) - LATAM

About the role

A digital design and development agency is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to build polished, high-performing web experiences for eCommerce and SaaS clients. The role is remote, based in Latin America, and reports to the Engineering Manager. It suits a senior engineer who enjoys ownership and works well with designers, product leads, backend engineers and client-facing teammates.

Key responsibilities

• Build production-grade frontend experiences for enterprise accounts in React and Next.js.
• Translate Figma designs into reusable component libraries and design-system primitives.
• Turn product objectives into clear engineering tasks and own the technical approach.
• Connect interfaces to backend and third-party APIs, handling loading, errors, empty states and partial data.
• Write tested, maintainable TypeScript following each client's conventions, and write technical documentation and schemas.
• Plan work across several client projects, identify risks and create spike tickets, and self-manage commitments.
• Self-review work, conduct code reviews, and use AI coding tools while keeping engineering judgment in control.
• Communicate proactively with a remote team, sharing progress and risks early.

Required profile

• 5+ years building production frontend applications with deep, current React expertise.
• Prior experience in an agency environment and as an independent contractor, managing multiple clients or projects in parallel.
• Excellent spoken and written English; fluent, practical use of AI coding tools.
• Ability to estimate work, commit within a delivery cycle and deliver reliably.
• Based in Latin America and available during standard US Central Time business hours.

Required skills

• React and Next.js; REST or GraphQL APIs and client/server state management.
• Semantic HTML, modern CSS, responsive design and accessibility.
• Figma to responsive, accessible interfaces.
• Preferred: headless or eCommerce frontends (e.g. Shopify Hydrogen), design systems, testing tooling (Playwright, Vitest, Jest, Testing Library), and a points-based or sprint delivery model.
