Senior Java Developer

About the role

EPAM is looking for a Senior Java Developer with AI experience to design and build scalable software solutions. You will work with multinational teams on innovative projects, contributing to both technical excellence and AI‑enhanced capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services using Java 8, Spring Boot and micro‑services patterns.
• Participate in architecture sessions, providing technical recommendations and guiding solution choices.
• Collaborate with product, business and engineering teams to ensure timely delivery without compromising quality.
• Review peer code, mentor junior developers and promote maintainable development practices.
• Investigate complex engineering challenges, identify root causes and deliver corrective solutions.
• Create clear documentation for design decisions, technical processes and implementation standards.

Required profile

• At least three years of professional software engineering experience.
• Practical familiarity with AI platforms and concepts that can improve software design.
• Strong understanding of Java core, object‑oriented principles and hands‑on experience with Java 8.
• Experience building backend services with Spring Boot and deploying to Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of AWS services for cloud deployment and operational support.
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with NoSQL data stores.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
