Senior Passenger Modelling Specialist

About the role

Join WSP’s Rail & Transit team as a Senior Passenger Modelling Specialist based in Bogotá. You will create and refine advanced passenger‑behaviour simulations that help shape safe, efficient and sustainable mobility solutions across rail, bus, aviation and urban systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain sophisticated static and dynamic passenger flow models using LEGION, Viswalk and MassMotion.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, landscape designers and safety experts to build integrated, human‑centric simulation environments.
• Conduct validation, calibration and testing to ensure model reliability and compliance with industry standards.
• Produce data visualisations, technical reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Translate modelling outcomes into clear, actionable insights for client engagement.
• Stay updated on crowd‑dynamics research and best practices, applying new knowledge to improve project outcomes.
• Participate in design reviews, innovation sessions and mobility‑planning activities.
• Guide junior and intermediate staff on multiple passenger‑modelling projects.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in passenger modelling or agent‑based simulation within transportation, mobility or urban planning.
• Proven expertise with LEGION, Viswalk, MassMotion (or CAST) and strong analytical skills.
• Hands‑on experience with major transit facilities and crowd‑control plan development.
• Solid knowledge of transportation systems, human factors and crowd dynamics.
