Senior Power Service Technician – Saudi Arabia Expat Position

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Power Service Technician to join our Power Operations Department in Saudi Arabia. This permanent expatriate position offers a full relocation package and involves working on high‑voltage electrical systems across substations, switching stations and power plants.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, installation, commissioning, testing, repairs and troubleshooting on equipment ranging from 480 V to 230 kV, including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, disconnect switches and reclosers.
• Use testing instruments such as transformer‑turns‑ratio meters, insulation‑resistance testers and dielectric testers.
• Install, splice, terminate and test high‑voltage cables (solid dielectric, PILCA, LPOF, submarine and HPOF).
• Repair mechanical components of oil‑filled circuit breakers (compressors, pumps, springs, linkages).
• Conduct commissioning tests, document acceptance criteria and manage any exception items.
• Diagnose and locate faults in equipment, systems and cables, and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise cable excavation, ensure safe de‑energisation, grounding and oversee high‑ and medium‑voltage cable laying.
• Perform high‑potential (HP) testing on power cables and operate specialized distribution equipment such as line‑wash units, lifts and digger‑derricks.
• Coordinate power outages with external stakeholders to enable routine maintenance or repairs.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of hands‑on technical experience with high‑voltage power equipment.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to relocate permanently to Saudi Arabia.
• Senior‑level expertise; this is not an engineering design role.

Required skills

• High‑voltage equipment maintenance (480 V‑230 kV).
