Senior Python Developer – Backend & AWS

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Senior Python Developer with strong AWS expertise to drive backend engineering for Treasury technology initiatives. You will design scalable micro‑services, integrate diverse data sources, and mentor junior engineers while working with global, agile teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement micro‑services architectures, API gateways and inter‑service communication.
• Develop and optimise backend services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django and Flask.
• Integrate data from XLSX, PDF, CSV and JSON formats into unified data models.
• Build and maintain high‑performance REST APIs.
• Mentor less senior team members and lead technical discussions.
• Automate tasks with Bash shell scripting and manage Linux/Unix operations.
• Troubleshoot complex system and application issues.
• Ensure strong test coverage through unit testing and test automation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional Python development experience.
• Proficiency with backend frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask) and API design.
• Experience designing micro‑services, API gateways and inter‑service communication.
• Ability to integrate multiple data formats into a common model.
• Hands‑on experience with Bash scripting and Linux/Unix environments.
• Familiarity with AWS services and GitHub Actions.
• Experience working in agile, globally distributed teams.
• Upper‑Intermediate English proficiency (B2) or higher.
