Senior Research Analyst

About the role

Louis Dreyfus Company is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to lead the regional research function for its coffee business in the Milds region. You will work closely with trading and research teams across the region and Geneva to deliver high‑quality data, analysis, and strategic recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and coordinate the regional research function, collaborating with trading and research personnel.
• Support the research team by improving data and analysis for the Milds coffee balance sheet.
• Produce and maintain coffee balance sheets for the Milds region.
• Maintain hedge matrices that track flat‑price risk from farmer to hedger.
• Verify cost‑of‑production estimates and model historical time series.
• Develop forecast models for coffee consumption, exports, production, and farmer behavior.
• Optimize data‑maintenance processes and propose trading recommendations based on stock, supply, and demand analysis.
• Identify significant correlations between balance‑sheet movements and price time series.
• Act as the lead analyst for the Milds complex, proposing and reviewing trading strategies.

Required profile

• Preferred degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or Economics.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Strong programming skills, preferably Python, and experience with SQL.
• Proven experience in data analysis and statistical techniques.
• Advanced English language skills.
