Senior SEO Strategist (Remote)

About the role

Rock City Digital is looking for a full-time Senior SEO Strategist to run impactful SEO strategies based on data and scale local business visibility. The position is remote and open to residents of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela, Kenya and South Africa. Pay is USD 1,300 to 2,500 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Own the SEO strategy across several local and service-based client accounts.
• Audit accounts and set priorities independently, without relying on a prebuilt checklist.
• Build data-driven strategies using Google Search Console, GA4, rankings, competitor research, site performance, local visibility and conversion data.
• Lead local SEO, including Google Business Profile, service and location pages, citations, reviews and local organic visibility.
• Handle technical SEO: crawling and indexing issues, redirects, canonicals, schema, internal linking, site architecture, duplicate or thin content, and diagnosing ranking or traffic drops.
• Develop on-page and content strategies based on search intent and business goals, measuring qualified traffic, leads and calls rather than rankings alone.
• Review and quality-assure SEO work, give clear feedback to teammates, and explain strategy to internal teams and clients in plain language.
• Stay ahead of AI search and generative engine optimization.

Required profile

• +5 years of SEO experience; preferred five or more years of hands-on SEO and three or more years of agency SEO experience.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and make strategic recommendations without constant direction.
• Preferred: ability to work in the U.S. Central Time zone.

Required skills

• Expertise in Local SEO, Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
• Preferred: experience with SEO tools such as SE Ranking, Semrush or Ahrefs, and strong WordPress experience.
