Senior Shopify Developer

About the role

A client of Proxify, a global network connecting remote developers with full-time jobs, is looking for a Senior Shopify Developer. The role suits someone who is growth-oriented and enjoys building new products and growth features.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain pixel-perfect, mobile-first Shopify themes using modular Liquid components, custom sections and metafields.
• Build custom Theme App Extensions and Shopify Functions for complex business logic such as custom bundling, tiered pricing and subscription flows.
• Audit and refactor front-end code to keep Core Web Vitals high, DOM rendering fast and checkout transitions instant.
• Connect Shopify storefronts to third-party APIs, fulfillment partners, WMS and marketing platforms via webhooks and GraphQL middleware.
• Maintain clean version control workflows with GitHub and Shopify CLI, including automated code checks, staging previews and safe production deployments.

Required profile

• 3+ years architecting and scaling Shopify Plus stores, including advanced theme development with Shopify CLI, Liquid and Online Store 2.0 JSON templates.
• 5+ years of core web development with modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript and React.js, building responsive, accessible and fast interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify Storefront API and Admin API (GraphQL and REST).
• Ability to build custom apps and extensions with Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensibility.
• Experience optimizing site speed (Core Web Vitals, asset minification, lazy loading) and running A/B tests (VWO, Optimizely).
• Nice to have: legacy migrations to Online Store 2.0 or headless solutions, public/private Shopify apps with Node.js / Remix / GraphQL, and internationalization, multi-currency and localization setups.
