Senior/Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

Addi is building a leading financial platform in Latin America and needs a senior engineer to design and operate an internal engineering platform that dramatically improves developer productivity across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Reduce p95 CI pipeline execution times by 40% within 12 months through advanced build caching, parallelization and incremental compilation for Java/JVM services.
• Deliver fully automated SLO dashboard instrumentation and alert policies for all new platform services within six months, enabling product squads to own reliability.
• Establish a zero‑dependency production performance triage process by implementing continuous observability (CPU, heap, thread profiling) for JVM services within nine months.
• Launch AI‑assisted capabilities such as automated runbook generation and LLM‑based log triage to cut platform support tickets per developer within a year.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years building or operating platforms for Java/JVM backend systems at scale.
• Deep understanding of distributed system trade‑offs, API design, data consistency and JVM internals (GC tuning, classloading, JIT).
• Proven experience delivering internal developer platforms, measuring DX metrics (DORA, build time percentiles) and treating the platform as a product.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and hands‑on knowledge of Docker, containerd and Kubernetes for Java workloads.

• Observability stack: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Tempo/Jaeger, structured logging
