Software Development Engineer II – Full Stack (Remote, Colombia)

About the role

OfferUp’s Business team builds the platforms that power multiple marketplace verticals such as Storefronts, Auto Dealers, Services, Rentals, and Jobs. As a Full Stack Software Development Engineer II you will own features from concept through production, impacting both our business customers and company revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy new user experiences and backend services across five business verticals using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Node.js, and Java.
• Own features end‑to‑end: plan, design, develop, deploy, measure, and iterate.
• Break down complex engineering problems into achievable tasks and deliver within committed timeframes.
• Collaborate with product, design, data, and business stakeholders to implement new functionality.
• Contribute to A/B tests and use experiment results to guide shipping decisions.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce best practices, and handle edge‑case testing.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers, new hires, and interns.
• Create shared components, utilities, and services to improve team velocity.
• Maintain runbooks, alerting, and monitoring for shipped features.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and leverage AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to boost development speed.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to deliver multiple features end‑to‑end with high efficiency.
• Strong ownership mindset and a collaborative attitude.
