Staff Accountant – Colombia

About the role

WITHIN is looking for an experienced Contador Público to lead accounting and tax compliance for its Colombian entity while supporting accounting across its US entities. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, you will own the Colombian statutory and tax calendar and manage the accounts receivable cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Own Colombian statutory accounting and tax compliance, including NIIF reporting, DIAN filings (IVA, retención, renta, exógena), ICA, electronic invoicing, payroll compliance and cross‑border requirements.
• Support US entities with monthly close, fixed‑asset registers, debt amortization, capital expenditures, recurring accruals and intercompany balances.
• Manage the full accounts receivable cycle: invoicing, cash application, collections, aging review and revenue cut‑off at close.
• Prepare month‑end and year‑end entries, perform bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations in QuickBooks, and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Collaborate with the Junior Accountant on AP, build ad‑hoc schedules and analysis in English, and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Colombian CPA license (Tarjeta Profesional – JCC) with 4+ years of post‑licensure accounting experience.
• Degree in Contaduría Pública from a recognized Colombian university.
• Hands‑on experience with Colombian statutory accounting, DIAN calendar, payroll, and multi‑entity close.
• Fluency in English (C1 or above) and strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• QuickBooks (Online) across multiple company files.
• Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for building reconciliations.
• Familiarity with accounting/billing platforms such as Siigo, World Office, Helisa, Bill.com.
• Knowledge of NIIF (Decreto 2420 de 2015) and Colombian tax regulations.
