Staff Accountant

About the role

8am is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing finance team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will play a key role in the month‑end close process for multiple entities and help ensure compliance with GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations for several entities.
• Assist with prepaid, fixed‑asset, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Record cash transactions and reconcile all bank accounts.
• Support financial and tax audits by preparing PBC schedules and required documentation.
• Maintain accounting procedures in line with GAAP and internal policies.
• Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis upon request.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of professional accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Required skills

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
