About the role
8am is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing finance team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will play a key role in the month‑end close process for multiple entities and help ensure compliance with GAAP.
Key responsibilities
- Execute month‑end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations for several entities.
- Assist with prepaid, fixed‑asset, and other accounting functions as needed.
- Record cash transactions and reconcile all bank accounts.
- Support financial and tax audits by preparing PBC schedules and required documentation.
- Maintain accounting procedures in line with GAAP and internal policies.
- Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis upon request.
Required profile
- 2‑4 years of professional accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Required skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
