Staff Accountant (Real Estate)

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to oversee the financial performance of a diverse real‑estate portfolio. Working remotely, you will ensure accurate accounting, budgeting, and reporting for approximately 20 properties, providing critical data for investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the financial accounts of roughly 20 properties, meeting company and owner expectations.
• Coordinate with Property Supervisors and Resident Managers to achieve budget and financial objectives.
• Process move‑ins, move‑outs, collections, and rental rate adjustments.
• Facilitate onboarding of newly acquired properties.
• Perform full‑cycle accounting, including owner contributions and capital distributions.
• Process weekly accounts payable transactions using AvidXchange and Rent Manager.
• Audit and process property mortgages and tax payments.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets.
• Submit monthly utility invoices to AUMA and provide additional accounting support as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of full‑cycle accounting experience; property management accounting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to sit for extended periods and operate standard office equipment.
