System & Cloud Engineer Jr.

About the role

The System & Cloud Engineer Jr. joins the Data Center & Cloud team supporting a managed estate of servers, virtualization, storage, and cloud workloads across multiple sites in the Americas. Working under senior guidance, the role focuses on day‑to‑day server administration, incident resolution, and routine maintenance while building toward more advanced engineering tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve escalated server and infrastructure incidents, including Windows Server and Linux OS issues.
• Perform routine server administration such as account management, disk/resource handling, service restarts, certificate renewals, and scheduled task upkeep.
• Support virtualization operations (VMware/Hyper‑V) – provisioning, snapshots, resource adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
• Execute and monitor backup jobs, remediate failures, and support restore requests.
• Respond to monitoring alerts, conduct first‑level diagnostics, and follow runbooks for escalation.
• Assist with patching activities and cloud operations tasks (Azure/AWS) under senior guidance.
• Maintain accurate documentation, ticket hygiene, and participate in on‑call rotation and maintenance windows.

Required profile

• Degree or technical diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1‑2+ years of server administration or infrastructure operations experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (B2+) and fluency in Spanish and Portuguese.
• Availability for scheduled maintenance windows and on‑call rotation.
