Tax Audit Specialist – Bogotá, Colombia

About the role

We are looking for a Tax Audit Specialist to lead our tax strategy, planning and compliance in Colombia. The role ensures accurate accounting records, strict adherence to DIAN and municipal regulations, and execution of internal tax audits.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct internal tax audits across all filings to identify and resolve compliance risks before submission to DIAN and municipal tax offices.
• Lead preparation, review and filing of national and local tax returns (Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, Municipal Tax, Transfer Pricing).
• Supervise the preparation and submission of Exogenous Information for national and municipal authorities.
• Manage tax refund and compensation claims before the DIAN for VAT and Income Tax.
• Act as primary contact for DIAN audits, inspections and formal responses, as well as audit requests from the statutory auditor.
• Ensure accurate accounting entries for tax provisions, withholdings and accruals in compliance with Colombian NCIF and IFRS/NIIF.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting with an active Colombian professional card.
• Post‑graduate specialization or Master’s degree in Tax Law, Tax Management or Tax Auditing.
• 5‑7+ years of experience in tax compliance and accounting within Colombian corporate environments.
• Intermediate‑to‑advanced English (B2) for reporting to global headquarters.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of the Colombian Tax Code, municipal tax codes and DIAN electronic platforms (MUISCA).
• Strong proficiency in IFRS/NIIF applied to tax accounting and reconciliations.
• Hands‑on experience with major ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Oracle.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI for data reconciliation and reporting.
