Team Leader - Liquid Dairy and H&PC

About the role

GEA, a global supplier of systems for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, is looking for a Team Leader for its Technical Offer Management team covering the Liquid Dairy and Home & Personal Care (H&PC) industries in Bogotá. The role leads a team of Technical Offer Engineers, coordinates resources and supports project pre-engineering, while travelling abroad at least 20% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the team of Technical Offer Engineers, supporting their development and monitoring each member's progress
• Evaluate GEA technologies, communicate with Sales and Core Technology Centers and leverage local expertise to build process engineering capabilities
• Coordinate resources within Technical Offer Management and collaborate with external GEA offices and other local departments
• Implement the strategy defined by the NPE Engineering and NPE Sales departments
• Prepare pre-engineering for projects: process dimensioning, production schedules, block diagrams, P&IDs, cleaning-in-place distribution, layout, product loss calculations and equipment lists
• Coordinate manufacturing and installation of equipment with sales, procurement, logistics, electrical and automation engineering and project management
• Analyse project costs, prepare schedule plans, lead technical design reviews and resolve claims with root cause analysis
• Ensure designs meet hygiene and sanitation standards such as EHEDG and 3A, and use 2D and 3D design tools
• Define and coordinate training, oversee knowledge management and track the career development of the team

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical and Food engineering (preferred), or Industrial and Mechanical engineering depending on experience
• Master's degree or specific training in related technologies or project management (valuable)
• 3+ years coordinating small teams and 5+ years on medium-sized projects in Liquid Dairy and H&PC (valuable)
• Knowledge of engineering calculation and design tools, food safety standards and German (valuable)
• B2 English; leadership, problem-solving and planning skills

• Manufacturing processes in liquid processing, mainly Liquid Dairy and H&PC
• P&ID drawing, block diagrams and 2D design tools
• Project cost analysis and schedule planning
• Knowledge of EHEDG and 3A hygiene standards
