Track Team Lead

About the role

The Lead Track Engineer provides senior technical leadership for planning, design, engineering, and optimization of track geometry and infrastructure on passenger and freight rail projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and review of track geometry and railway infrastructure designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship across multidisciplinary teams, including civil, utilities, structural, geotechnical, systems, and operations.
• Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, constructability analysis, construction staging, and value‑engineering exercises.
• Establish technical governance, quality management processes, lessons learned, and peer‑review practices.
• Represent the rail track capability in client meetings, industry forums, audits, and technical working groups.

Required profile

• 10+ years of railway track engineering experience on complex, multi‑discipline rail transit projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited program.
• Proven project management, technical leadership, and client‑facing experience.
• Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of railway design and construction standards/guidelines such as AREMA, CN, CPKC, TCRP, and Transport Canada regulations.
• Proficiency with railway design tools: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, corridor modeling, Bentley OpenRail Designer, Navisworks.
