Transportation & Logistics Manager - Live Events

About the role

The Transport Manager manages the day-to-day transportation of Christie Lites equipment between warehouses and live event locations. The role coordinates cost-effective, reliable domestic, cross-border and international freight while ensuring timely delivery and accurate shipment documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate transportation operations: plan freight movements with Transport Coordinators, warehouses and internal stakeholders, select carriers and secure capacity, track shipments and communicate delays and recovery plans.
• Ensure cross-border and international shipment compliance: work with carriers and customs brokers, keep customs documentation and HS codes accurate, maintain temporary import records and shipment records for compliance audits.
• Manage the global carrier network: onboard carriers based on coverage, cost, reputation and capability, negotiate rates and service terms, and verify carrier insurance and compliance records.
• Control freight costs and carrier performance: compare freight options, monitor on-time delivery, tender acceptance, rate reliability and service failures, and analyse costs to find savings.
• Resolve freight claims and billing issues: investigate lost, damaged or delayed shipments, submit carrier claims, review invoices and work with Accounting on payment issues.
• Support daily team operations: coordinate team priorities and coverage, support Transport Coordinators, maintain procedures and vendor data in Nexus, and work with the software team on system issues.

Required profile

• Transportation and logistics experience, including freight planning, carrier coordination and rate negotiation.
• Cross-border and international freight experience, including customs documentation and broker coordination.
• Management experience overseeing teams and daily transportation or logistics operations.
• Strong preference for experience in live events, touring or production logistics.
• Self-motivated, quality-conscious, able to multitask and adapt, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office and Excel, including analysis of freight costs and carrier performance.
• Nexus (for vendor and procedure data).
