US Credit Originations SME

About the role

Sutherland is looking for a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge of the US credit originations and account-opening lifecycle to lead the operational management and optimisation of its credit card originations processes. The Credit Originations SME brings deep understanding of application intake, underwriting support and decisioning to support daily operations and drive compliant, efficient onboarding of new accounts.

Required profile

• Previous experience at a bank, issuer processor or fintech lender
• Proven ability to act as the central point of contact for the operations team on all US credit originations matters
• Ability to build strong relationships across departments such as Implementations, Operations, Product and Risk
• Experience owning an operational learning strategy, upskilling internal teams and sharing knowledge and best practice
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where client service is critical
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English, adaptable to different audiences
• Strong attention to detail, effective time management and ability to work independently and in a team

Required skills

• End-to-end originations lifecycle: application intake, identity verification, credit decisioning, underwriting support, funding and account set-up
• Credit bureau data and scoring (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion), decisioning engines and risk-based pricing
• KYC/KYB/CIP and AML requirements for account opening
• Regulatory framework including Regulation B (ECOA), Regulation Z (TILA), FCRA and adverse action requirements
• Desirable: familiarity with Mastercard, Visa, Amex and Discover originations requirements and platform functionality
• Desirable: exposure to fraud and identity verification tools used at point of application, and LoanPro, Taktile and Bloom experience
