UX Designer for Gaming Interfaces

About the role

EPAM is seeking a UX Designer to translate design vision into UI specifications and prototypes for Unreal Engine production. You will work closely with multinational teams to create consistent, high‑quality user experiences across gaming platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Create UI flows, user journeys, and interaction routes for in‑game features, delivering clear specifications for engineers.
• Develop and maintain an adaptable UI component system with patterns, variants, and states.
• Write detailed behavioral rules covering focus, navigation, input reactions, and edge cases.
• Collaborate hands‑on with client‑side engineers and UI artists to ensure designs are performant and coherent within the engine.
• Lead refinement by reviewing builds, providing feedback, and updating designs based on technical constraints and play‑testing results.

Required profile

• At least two years of hands‑on UI/UX experience delivering digital or gaming interfaces.
• Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher) for clear communication of business needs.
• Experience designing UI that adapts to various resolutions, aspect ratios, and safe‑area constraints.

Required skills

• Advanced use of Figma (components, variants, auto‑layout, reusable libraries).
• Practical knowledge of Unreal Engine UI development, including UMG basics such as layout, anchoring, scaling, and widget states/animations.
• Ability to produce implementation‑ready outputs: annotated screens, interaction overviews, state diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
