Virtual Physician, Radiology (Overnight) - Bilingual English/Spanish

About the role

GSD is hiring a remote Virtual Physician, Radiology (Overnight) for a growing regional health system in North Carolina. The physician reviews after-hours imaging studies, documents findings, flags urgent cases and checks that diagnosis and procedure codes match the records. The role reports to a GSD Account Manager, with clinical direction from the client's radiology leadership, and is open to candidates based in Colombia.

Key responsibilities

• Review overnight and after-hours imaging studies, mainly X-rays from urgent care centers, and document structured findings and impressions in the EMR
• Compare findings with the preliminary assessment and escalate critical or time-sensitive cases, documenting who was notified and following up until acknowledged
• Review ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, check they match documented findings and orders, and flag mismatches to the billing and coding team
• Write documentation in English and communicate in Spanish when needed; relay provider-approved follow-up instructions to Spanish-speaking patients and families
• Keep a nightly log, send a morning summary, give feedback on image quality and help maintain SOPs for the overnight review

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD) with radiology specialization or extensive diagnostic imaging experience
• Fluent English and Spanish, spoken and written
• Experience with digital X-ray or PACS viewers and EMR systems
• Adult and pediatric imaging experience, including fractures, chest studies and emergency or trauma imaging
• Commitment to work Monday to Friday, 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM Eastern Time, consistently and independently
• HIPAA certification provided by GSD before starting
• A private, HIPAA-compliant workspace, a diagnostic-quality monitor and reliable internet with a backup connection

Nice to have

• Emergency or urgent care radiology experience
• Board certification in radiology
• Teleradiology or remote reading experience
• Familiarity with ACR accreditation and Image Gently practices
• Medical coding certification or clinical documentation improvement experience

Compensation is stated as $2,000-$3,000 USD per month depending on experience. Final interpretations and treatment decisions remain with the licensed radiologist or treating provider.
