Wireless Security Engineer II – Cloud Detection & AI

About the role

The Amazon Wireless Security Assessments team is looking for a Security Engineer to design and operate cloud‑based detection systems that identify wireless threats across Amazon facilities worldwide. You will turn raw RF telemetry and system logs into actionable security intelligence at scale, leveraging AI‑assisted tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain detection logic for wireless security threats using telemetry from distributed sensor systems.
• Analyze large‑scale security data—including RF metadata, wireless IDS alerts, syslog, and custom sensor telemetry—to surface anomalies and assess security posture.
• Develop and refine data pipelines that ingest, normalize, and enrich wireless telemetry for continuous assessment.
• Own wireless security investigations from hypothesis framing through outcome delivery.
• Leverage and improve AI‑assisted workflows to automate collection, triage, and initial analysis.
• Conduct targeted on‑site wireless assessments to validate detection hypotheses and capture signal data.
• Author risk‑calibrated findings, educate partner teams, drive remediation, and present analyses to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Strong detection engineering and data analysis expertise.
• Working familiarity with wireless security concepts and RF fundamentals.
• Comfort operating in cloud‑native environments.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment under ambiguity and deliver outcomes.
• US citizenship and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
