WordPress & AI Developer (Fully Remote)

About the role

A digital marketing agency that serves cannabis dispensaries across North America is hiring a WordPress & AI Developer to join its web team. You will manage full-cycle website projects across all client accounts, designing, building from scratch, migrating and troubleshooting sites while handling a high volume of day-to-day requests. Client communication is handled by the account team, so you stay focused on development, maintenance and AI integration. The position is fully remote, with working hours 9 am to 5 pm EST and US holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build websites and landing pages, turning Figma mockups into WordPress and Elementor pages.
• Use AI tools daily to speed up workflows such as Figma to Elementor conversion, code generation, debugging and routine task automation.
• Handle ongoing maintenance and change requests: content updates, banners, links, plugin management and layout fixes.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across CMS environments using custom PHP, CSS and JavaScript.
• Adapt designs to different brand guidelines, from corporate multi-location groups to streetwear-style dispensaries.
• Work with cannabis-specific e-commerce CMSs (Blaze, Treez) and integrate online menu platforms (Dutchie, Jane, COVA, Breadstack).
• Assist with site migrations, DNS setups, Cloudflare configurations and reverse-proxy setups.
• Set up technical SEO (GA4, GTM, schema markup, redirects, indexing checks, Core Web Vitals) and ensure WCAG accessibility and cannabis compliance (age gates, state disclaimers).
• Create detailed technical documentation for site builds.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional web development experience, including before modern AI tools appeared.
• Experience with US clients and a digital marketing agency; cannabis-dispensary experience highly preferred.
• Strong design sense and a portfolio of well-performing websites.
• Proven ability to manage many websites at once in an agency or multi-client setting.
• Clear written English and comfort in asynchronous, remote teams.

Required skills

• Deep WordPress knowledge and multiple page builders, especially Elementor.
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with a solid grasp of code structure.
• Non-WordPress CMS platforms such as Shopify, PrestaShop, Drupal or Blaze/Treez, and quick learning of new software.
• Daily use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) with documented time-saving workflows.
• Technical SEO and WCAG accessibility.

Preferred location: Latin America. Salary: USD 1,600 - 2,000 per month.
