Legal Manager

About the role

Lead and manage Honor’s legal department across Colombia, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations while supporting the growth of the mobile phone business. The Legal Manager will act as a strategic partner to senior management, safeguarding the company’s interests and overseeing all legal and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive, strategic legal advice to senior management and business units on Colombian and international laws.
• Research and monitor changes in Colombian legislation, especially commercial, corporate, consumer, labor, telecommunications, data protection, e‑commerce, and intellectual property law.
• Draft, review, and negotiate domestic and international contracts with suppliers, distributors, clients, technology partners, and marketing agencies.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and internal policies.
• Support the Compliance Officer in designing and overseeing compliance programs, including data privacy, AML/CTF, and anti‑corruption.
• Train employees on relevant regulations and assess legal risks associated with business initiatives.
• Coordinate dispute resolution, claims, and arbitration proceedings.
• Manage relationships with external legal advisors and represent the company before government authorities, regulatory bodies, and notaries.
• Obtain necessary licenses, permits, and authorizations for operations.
• Advise on intellectual property protection and review marketing materials for compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Colombian corporate and commercial law, with a strong understanding of telecom, data protection, and compliance regulations.
• Proven ability to provide strategic legal counsel to senior leadership.
• Experience managing legal teams, external counsel, and complex contractual negotiations.
• Strong analytical skills to identify and mitigate legal risks.
