Mechanical Designer – Project Delivery Group

About the role

Join Hatch’s Project Delivery Group in Medellín as a Mechanical Designer (or Senior Mechanical Designer). You will create mechanical equipment layouts, 3D models, and detailed drawings that support safe, efficient, and sustainable project delivery across mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Produce mechanical equipment layouts, models and drawings according to project requirements.
• Coordinate draftspersons and senior draftspersons to prepare contract drawings and maintain records.
• Perform conceptual layout work and review drawings before release.
• Develop design details for standard elements and generate 3D equipment models.
• Create 2D drawings from 3D models as required by the project.
• Interpret plant PFDs, P&IDs, and battery limits to ensure design compliance.

Required profile

• Sound knowledge of project‑specific mechanical components or systems.
• Fundamental understanding of plant processes and owner/user requirements.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Lead Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary drafting teams.
