Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will manage the tactical acquisition of goods and services for the plant in Medellín, handling purchase requests up to $50,000. The role ensures continuity of operations, quality, and compliance with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers to secure beneficial agreements.
• Perform comparative analysis of suppliers and select those offering the best balance of cost, quality, and delivery time.
• Manage delivery and reception of goods and services, guaranteeing agreed timelines.
• Follow up on accounts payable with suppliers to mitigate risk of shipment or service suspension.
• Create and maintain supplier records in line with policies and procedures.
• Propose and implement savings projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Collaborate with business lines to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Analyze purchasing data and supplier performance to generate improvement recommendations.
• Create purchase orders in SAP, ensuring compliance with established policies.

Required profile

• Degree in administration, international business, mechanical/industrial/production/materials engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing processes.
• Intermediate‑advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP (desired).
• English level B2.
