Account Manager – Debt Restructuring

About the role

Join a fast‑moving law firm that helps business owners restructure merchant cash advance (MCA) debt. As an Account Manager you will take ownership of client files after intake, understand each client’s financial hardship and negotiate directly with lenders to secure realistic payment reductions.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of client files after the intake process is completed by customer service.
• Interview clients to gather details on revenue trends, financial hardship, MCA history and current debt.
• Collect and review documents such as bank statements, agreements, IDs, lawsuit notices and lender contacts.
• Work with the reconciliation/accounting team to analyse cash flow and build supporting financial evidence.
• Develop and present negotiation strategies based on the client’s financial position.
• Communicate directly with lenders to negotiate settlements, payment reductions and restructuring terms.
• Escalate cases to the legal team when necessary and keep clients updated on progress.
• Manage a high‑volume caseload of approximately 50‑60 client files.

Required profile

• Ability to stay calm and firm under pressure from aggressive lenders.
• Street‑smart, practical decision‑making focused on workable debt‑restructuring solutions.
• Persistent and able to move files forward independently.
• Highly organized with strong follow‑up skills.
• Proactive communicator who can keep clients informed and calm.
• Quick learner of revenue decline, cash‑flow issues and debt‑stacking concepts.
