Bilingual Accountant

About the role

VFS Global, an outsourcing and technology services provider for governments and diplomatic missions, is looking for a bilingual Accountant to join its team in Bogotá. The role suits someone with strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills and conversational English, in a dynamic international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and keep financial records accurate.
• Prepare tax declarations and support compliance with local tax regulations.
• Create ad-hoc financial reports to support business decisions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Carry out periodic account reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Collaborate with regional and global finance teams and suggest improvements to financial processes and controls.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Accounting (Contaduría Pública).
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, taxation and reconciliations.
• Conversational English, able to take part in meetings, talk with regional stakeholders and write business correspondence.
• Preferred: experience in multinational companies or shared service environments, and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Dynamics.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
• Financial analysis, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, tax compliance, account reconciliation, audit support
