Bilingual Virtual Assistant (English/Spanish) Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Virtual Assistant to support an Internal Medicine practice remotely. The role is patient‑facing, handling phone communication, appointment coordination, insurance verification and administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage high‑volume inbound and outbound calls with patients, pharmacies, and payer offices in both English and Spanish.
• Schedule new and existing patient appointments, handle cancellations, reschedules and wait‑list coordination.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility, copays and prior authorizations, documenting results in the EMR.
• Process referrals, track prior‑authorization status, and follow up on pending items.
• Maintain accurate documentation, manage inbox/task queues and ensure HIPAA‑compliant handling of patient information.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
• Confident, professional phone presence with strong patient‑service orientation.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple tasks independently.
• Reliable remote work setup with computer, headset and stable internet.

Required skills

• Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare workflows.
