BIM Engineer

About the role

Allied Engineering Colombia is looking for a BIM Engineer to join its engineering team in Bucaramanga. The role focuses on creating detailed 3D models and fabrication‑ready documentation for pre‑engineered metal building projects, working closely with mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models of metal structures using Tekla Structures.
• Produce construction and fabrication drawings in coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ensure all outputs meet industry standards, project specifications and best practices.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and provide BIM‑related input.
• Review and validate fabrication models to support manufacturing and on‑site construction.
• Support design verification, clash detection and BIM coordination across structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Maintain engineering documentation and BIM records for quality assurance and project tracking.
• Mentor junior engineers in BIM modeling and detailing.
• Continuously improve BIM workflows and engineering processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven experience using BIM software, specifically Tekla Structures.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles, fabrication processes and construction detailing.
• Experience collaborating with mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills in BIM modeling.
