Business Systems Specialist

About the role

The Business Systems Specialist will act as a strategic liaison between IT and business stakeholders in Abbott's Medical Devices division. Based in Bogotá, the role translates business needs into scalable technology solutions and ensures the stability and optimal operation of the Vaisala ViewLinc application.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies.
• Bridge business stakeholders and IT, converting needs into technical requirements.
• Analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
• Develop business requirements and contribute to business case creation.
• Support initiatives across discovery, design, and implementation phases.
• Partner with service providers to evaluate existing applications.
• Maintain system health and follow established procedures.
• Manage user access provisioning and de‑provisioning.
• Resolve Level 2 support tickets and assist end users.
• Configure system settings, including monitoring locations.
• Drive process improvements and guide less experienced team members.
• Contribute to demand management, roadmap development, and strategic planning.
• Deliver user training and promote system adoption.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (associate degree may be considered with relevant experience).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in IT systems support, business analysis, or related roles.
• Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and translate requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives.
