About the role

CRISIL Limited is seeking a dynamic Consultant to support its commodity and energy market analytics. The role involves rapid learning, data management, and delivering high‑quality insights on sectors such as gas, power, renewables, oil, chemicals, agriculture, and maritime trade.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with complex research assignments using advanced secondary research techniques and data analytics.
• Conduct in‑depth research on geographic trends, competitors, market dynamics, and technology topics.
• Maintain and enhance proprietary analytical models and databases (e.g., supply/demand, inventory models).
• Interpret modeling results and ensure their reasonableness.
• Collaborate with regional teams to analyze market trends and support thought‑leadership papers.
• Structure and analyze data using Python and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Spotfire, and Tableau.

Required profile

• Strong data‑management capabilities.
• Project experience in oil, refining, petrochemical, upstream/downstream, agro‑chemical, power, renewable energy or seed companies is desired.
• Conceptual understanding of upstream business.
• Curiosity about global markets, geopolitics and the interconnected energy ecosystem.
• Excellent research and analytical skills with ability to work on large datasets.
• Personable interface with multiple stakeholders.
