Chief Executive Officer - Colombia

About the role

A well-established international financial services group is looking for an experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead the establishment, operations and growth of its business in Colombia. The role combines strategic leadership, regulatory governance, commercial development and overall business management, with full P&L responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the establishment and operational setup of the business in Colombia, including local entity and branch activities.
• Develop and execute business strategies for market expansion, client acquisition, revenue growth and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with Colombian financial regulations, including those of the SFC, AMV, BVC and other regulators.
• Oversee brokerage and financial services operations, including trading, order execution, settlement, client onboarding and operational controls.
• Maintain relationships with regulators, financial institutions, banking partners, liquidity providers and market participants.
• Oversee AML/KYC, compliance monitoring, risk management, internal controls and regulatory reporting.
• Monitor quarterly sales targets with the CBDO and build strong client relationships.
• Build, manage and develop the local team in line with Group policies and culture.
• Identify commercial opportunities across retail, professional, institutional and corporate clients and promote the company's products.
• Collaborate with Group management and global departments, monitor KPIs and prepare regular business performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Law or a related field; a Master's or professional certification is an advantage.
• At least 10 years of experience in financial services, capital markets, brokerage, fintech, banking or related fields.
• Proven senior leadership experience as CEO, Country Manager, General Manager, Executive Director, COO or similar.
• Strong preference for experience in Colombian financial institutions, brokerage or securities firms, banks, fintechs or regulated entities.
• In-depth knowledge of the Colombian financial and regulatory environment (SFC, AMV, BVC, AML).
• Experience establishing, managing or expanding regulated financial services operations in Colombia.
• Fluency in Spanish and strong professional English; an established network in the Colombian financial services industry is highly desirable.
