Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to manage, troubleshoot and optimise containerised applications and cloud infrastructure. You will act as the subject‑matter expert for Linux, container platforms and complex networking, delivering high‑quality solutions for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimise Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift and OpenStack environments.
• Provide expert Linux (CentOS) system administration and advanced networking configuration.
• Lead investigation and resolution of high‑severity customer incidents across the full cloud stack.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Develop, test and maintain automation scripts using Python and Ansible.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual maintenance and deployment effort.
• Provide end‑to‑end Escalation, Monitoring and Emergency (EME) support as the final escalation point.
• Collaborate directly with customer and internal teams to design tailored technical solutions.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Linux system administration (CentOS).
• Deep understanding of core networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, firewalls) in cloud environments.
• Proven troubleshooting skills and analytical mindset for complex issues.
• Experience with RCA preparation and EME processes.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in Cloud Infrastructure, RHCE) are a plus.
