Concrete & Paving Construction Estimator (Remote Colombia)

About the role

A US-based specialty contractor delivering concrete, flatwork and paving solutions in New York is hiring a Concrete & Paving Construction Estimator, working remotely from Colombia. The role turns architectural and sitework drawings into accurate, competitive bid proposals for commercial and residential projects. It suits Civil Engineers, Architects or Quantity Surveyors with strong blueprint reading skills, solid knowledge of concrete construction and fluent English.

Key responsibilities

• Review builder's paper plans, site work drawings and grading plans to define concrete and paving scope.
• Perform material quantity takeoffs: concrete volume (cubic yards), surface area (square feet), curb lengths (linear feet), subbase and rebar.
• Generate cost estimates and client proposals using Estimate Rocket, PlanSwift or Bluebeam Revu.
• Prepare and submit competitive bids within tight deadlines, and communicate directly with clients to clarify scope and verify bid precision.
• Assess project specifications, unit costs (materials, labour, equipment) and site constraints independently.
• Maintain takeoff logs, documentation and proposal records, and coordinate with project managers.

Required profile

• Advanced technical and conversational English (B2+/C1).
• 3+ years of hands-on construction estimating and takeoffs in concrete flatwork, curbs, paving or sitework.
• Degree or coursework in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or equivalent practical estimating experience.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading of builder's sets, site plans, grading drawings and structural details.
• Digital takeoff software: PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu or Estimate Rocket.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
• Unit costing, material quantification (CY, SQFT, LF), rebar calculation and U.S. construction practices.
