Controller - Family Office

About the role

Shareholder Services is seeking a skilled Controller to lead accounting, reporting, and financial management for a fast‑growing, multi‑entity family office. The role operates on a US calendar and combines on‑site work in Medellín/Bogotá with remote flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes, including reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
• Design, implement and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures that scale with a high‑growth, multi‑entity structure.
• Manage cash, banking operations and reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Support the President and CFO with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and investment evaluation.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives and adopt AI‑enabled tools to boost accuracy and efficiency.
• Directly manage and mentor a team of three accounting professionals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (CPA and/or Master’s a plus).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with individual, trust, LLC, partnership, corporate or private‑equity structures.
• 2–3+ years of experience managing and developing accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, multi‑entity consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Fluent English (B2+), able to communicate clearly with US‑based leadership.
