Controller & Head of Finance/Accounting (Remote)

About the role

Ludlow Property Group is seeking a senior finance leader to build and run a finance function powered by AI for its growing real‑estate fund platform. This remote, full‑time position reports directly to senior leadership and oversees accounting across a multi‑entity, multi‑property portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual close for a multi‑entity real‑estate portfolio.
• Lead, build and mentor the finance and accounting team.
• Manage fund accounting and administration, including capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, NAV calculations and LP reporting.
• Produce accurate GAAP‑compliant financial statements and manage investor and lender reporting (K‑1s, debt covenants, equity updates).
• Oversee AP/AR, treasury and cash management across entities.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors, tax preparers and fund administrators.
• Implement and improve accounting systems, controls and processes as the business scales.
• Coordinate with operations, development and asset management to ensure data accuracy.
• Support budgeting, capital planning and financial analysis.

Required profile

• Direct experience closing books for real‑estate companies.
• Hands‑on fund accounting and fund management experience.
• Expertise in real‑estate accounting, financial reporting and GAAP.
• Proficiency in real‑estate finance, financial modeling and analysis.
• Strong conversational English.
• Passion for using AI to improve finance processes.
