Credit Risk Expert (Hybrid) - Senior Portfolio Strategy

About the role

Clara, a Latin American payment platform, is growing its Risk squad and is looking for a Senior Credit Risk & Portfolio Strategy Manager. This is a hands-on, strategic role for someone who understands credit portfolios, identifies what is changing and why, and turns data into actionable credit strategies and scalable tools. It is a remote-first position with hybrid elements.

Key responsibilities

• Own portfolio risk monitoring, analyzing delinquency, bad rates, vintages, through-the-door performance, concentrations, exposure, utilization and other key risk indicators
• Identify emerging risks and opportunities, perform root-cause analysis and turn findings into concrete portfolio actions
• Design, implement and measure credit strategies across the customer lifecycle, including credit line increases and decreases, exposure management, blocks/unblocks, inactivity rules, segmentation, policy cutoffs and early-warning strategies
• Monitor and challenge credit models and decision strategies, analyzing performance, backtesting, calibration, segmentation, drift and the effectiveness of model-driven decisions
• Use SQL and Python to analyze large datasets, build monitoring and decision-making tools, automate recurring analyses and move from raw data to actionable strategies
• Use AI and automation to build smarter and more scalable risk processes and tools
• Monitor portfolio risk appetite, concentrations, covenants and management indicators, and recommend clear actions to senior stakeholders
• Work cross-functionally with Data, Product, Engineering, Finance, Operations and Collections

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Credit Strategy, Portfolio Management or related analytical roles
• Experience in fintech, B2B lending, credit cards, payments or multi-country portfolios is a strong plus
• Fluency in English is required; Spanish and/or Portuguese are highly valued
• An analytical, technically strong "builder" mindset who designs solutions and measures their results
