About the role

The United Firm | La Liga Defensora seeks an experienced Criminal Defense Paralegal/Virtual Assistant to support our legal team. This remote position involves comprehensive legal research, document creation, and database maintenance to ensure efficient case handling.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain communication with clients and provide timely case updates.
  • Process criminal cases for trial preparation, including legal documents, data entry, and correspondence.
  • Manage daily court calendar, obtain jury panels, and issue discovery to defense attorneys.
  • Prepare and cancel subpoenas as needed and enter revocation petitions.
  • Request and compile criminal history documentation and related records.
  • Perform office-related activities, including backup support and front‑desk duties handling public inquiries.

Required profile

  • Minimum 1 year of criminal defense experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Paralegal or related legal experience.
  • Based in LATAM.

Required skills

  • Experience with case management software.
