Data Architect (Databricks) - Colombia

About the role

CI&T is looking for a Data Architect with strong AWS expertise to drive the strategy, development and execution of its enterprise data platforms and analytics products. The role bridges business stakeholders, data engineers and data science teams, turning raw data assets into scalable, high-value data products while leveraging cloud-native AWS services to manage the product lifecycle from discovery to rollout.

Key responsibilities

• Define the vision, roadmap and KPIs for data products such as data pipelines, data lakes, analytics dashboards and AI/ML data features on AWS
• Work with business leaders, domain experts and engineering teams to identify high-impact use cases, turn requirements into technical epics and prioritize backlogs
• Oversee product architecture alignment on AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Bedrock/SageMaker) for scalable analytics and GenAI workloads
• Partner with Security and Data Governance teams on access controls, privacy regulations (LGPD/GDPR/HIPAA), data lineage and data quality standards
• Lead agile development cycles, define acceptance criteria, manage user stories and ensure timely delivery
• Track usage metrics, adoption rates and ROI to optimize user engagement and business value

Required profile

• Experience managing data platforms, ETL pipelines or analytics products
• Strong experience leading cross-functional squads with Scrum/Kanban, backlog management tools (Jira, Linear) and user story definition
• Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools, able to query data to validate product performance
• Track record of turning complex technical requirements into business outcomes and executive-ready communication

Required skills

• Solid understanding of the AWS data stack (S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Athena, QuickSight, IAM) and cloud-native patterns (Data Lake, Lakehouse, Data Mesh)
• Nice to have: Databricks Certified Consultant, AWS Certified Data Engineer or Cloud Practitioner, CSPO or Pragmatic Institute certification; DBR to EMR migration experience
