Data Architect (Snowflake Solutions Architect)

About the role

Source Meridian, a software company focused on healthcare technology, artificial intelligence and healthcare interoperability, is looking for a Snowflake Solutions Architect to join a small, agile and highly technical team. The team defines, builds and owns its client's next-generation data platform. The role combines hands-on architecture, technical leadership and strategic direction, shaping the foundation, standards and roadmap of a modern data ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end data solutions in Snowflake, covering data modeling, ingestion, transformation, security and performance optimization.
• Define the data platform roadmap, standards and best practices in a lean, high-ownership team.
• Partner with data engineers, analytics engineers, data scientists and business groups to turn requirements into scalable Snowflake solutions.
• Lead design sessions, run technical reviews and guide decisions on warehousing, pipelines, orchestration and governance.
• Evaluate and integrate tools such as dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Matillion and Azure/AWS services.
• Implement data security, privacy and access management controls in Snowflake.
• Troubleshoot and optimize warehouse performance, cost efficiency and query execution.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture and data engineering, with at least 3 years hands-on in Snowflake.
• C1-C2 English: able to lead technical discussions, write clear documentation and work with US-based stakeholders.
• Nice to have: healthcare data experience (HL7, FHIR), dbt, event-driven or real-time pipelines, and greenfield platform design.

Required skills

• Deep Snowflake knowledge (warehouses, streams/tasks, time travel, RBAC, clustering, stages).
• Strong SQL and familiarity with Python.
• Azure cloud platform and modern ELT tooling.
• Data modeling (star, vault, wide tables), CI/CD for data and scalable architecture patterns.
