Data Center Technician Apprentice

About the role

As a Data Center Technician Apprentice at Equinix you will join the Critical Operations team and receive hands‑on training in one of the most advanced data centre facilities in the country. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of data‑center infrastructure while supporting the continuous operation of services for global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the operations team with day‑to‑day tasks inside the data centre under supervision.
• Observe and learn the operation of electrical, mechanical and telecommunications systems in a mission‑critical environment.
• Perform basic inspections, visual checks and record data accurately.
• Support safety, access control and protocol compliance activities.
• Help with documentation, work orders and tasks assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Active student enrolled in a technical or technological program approved by SENA.
• Studying a field related to Electricity, Mechanics, Electromechanics, Mechatronics or Telecommunications.
• Motivated to learn, proactive attitude and teamwork orientation.
• Available to work onsite Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm.
• Interest in technology environments and desire to grow professionally.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Understanding of electromechanical or mechatronic concepts.
• Familiarity with telecommunications infrastructure.
