Data Engineer (Azure Databricks) - Remote

About the role

BairesDev, a technology consultancy with more than 15 years of experience and a team of 4,000+ remote engineers, is hiring a Data Engineer specializing in Azure Databricks. The role designs and maintains scalable data architecture in the Microsoft cloud ecosystem, acting as a bridge between raw data sources and actionable insights by optimizing ingestion pipelines and storage systems for high-performance analytics and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated data pipelines for large-scale ingestion and transformation using Azure Databricks.
• Implement and optimize ETL/ELT processes to turn raw data into structured formats for downstream use.
• Build and manage data lakehouse architectures, keeping data consistent and reliable across storage layers.
• Work with analysts and data scientists to define data requirements and build models that support complex business queries.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks and keep the data platform stable.
• Apply data governance and quality controls to protect data integrity and security in the Azure environment.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Proven expertise in building data pipelines and ingestion systems on Azure Databricks.
• Strong understanding of Azure-native services and cloud data architecture.
• Hands-on experience supporting analytics and reporting workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
