Data Engineering Associate

About the role

ScotiaTech, Scotiabank’s technology hub in Bogota, is looking for a Data Engineering Associate to support Power BI, SSIS development and cloud migration initiatives. The role contributes to the International Banking Technology and Transformation team, ensuring compliance and delivering data solutions for the Caribbean region.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, workspaces and user governance.
• Design, develop, test and deploy SSIS packages for data integration and ETL processes.
• Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures and support server health, performance and capacity.
• Assist with cloud data consumption enablement, migration from on‑premise to Azure services, and troubleshoot connectivity issues across databases, APIs and file servers.
• Provide off‑hour production support, incident root‑cause analysis and ad‑hoc data requests for regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst.
• Detail‑oriented team player able to work with minimal direction.
• Fluent in English (B2+).
