Data Platform Architect – Azure & Snowflake (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is hiring a Data Platform Architect to turn a greenfield Azure and Snowflake environment into a production-grade managed platform, replacing manual, ad hoc automation with modern, reliable infrastructure. The role owns security and architecture decisions end to end and works alongside investment professionals, so client-facing communication is as important as technical depth. It is a fully remote position.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build Azure data architecture from the ground up, replacing manual processes with managed services.
• Set up Snowflake greenfield environments, including accounts, warehouses, RBAC, masking and row-level security.
• Design access architecture using Entra ID and managed identity.
• Build event-driven ingestion pipelines, including change-triggered extraction, queues and webhooks.
• Own the security posture and architecture decisions in a regulated environment.
• Work directly with investment professionals as the client-facing technical authority.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture.
• Strong expertise in Azure data architecture and hands-on experience with Azure managed data services such as Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, Functions and ADLS Gen2.
• Proven experience setting up Snowflake, including accounts, warehouses, RBAC, masking and row-level security.
• Experience designing access with Entra ID and managed identity, or Microsoft Graph.
• Experience with event-driven ingestion, including change-triggered extraction, queues and webhooks.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Nice to have: CI/CD with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, IaC with Terraform or Bicep, observability and data alerting, REST API integrations, Snowflake Cortex or dbt, and experience in private equity, investment management or other regulated domains.
