Data Platform Engineer (Mid-Level)
Jobgether
Job description
About the role
A partner company is recruiting a Data Platform Engineer (mid-level) based in Colombia. The role helps turn an established data and machine learning platform into a scalable, self-service environment so engineering teams can work independently. It spans data engineering, backend development and infrastructure, supporting a global shipping and fulfillment platform. The position offers increasing ownership, with the chance to lead the roadmap for shared platform tooling within the first six months.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and improve CI/CD pipelines, adapting workflows to support reliable, repeatable software delivery.
- Extend and maintain infrastructure-as-code modules following existing repository patterns.
- Apply data governance standards such as naming conventions, access controls and retention policies.
- Build a reusable template repository with preconfigured CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and governance standards, and create reusable modules that simplify pipeline creation.
- Write practical documentation, runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
- Design and manage data access-request processes and take ownership of the template repository and infrastructure modules.
- Collaborate with data engineers, backend engineers and infrastructure specialists, and use AI-assisted development tools while validating generated code.
Required profile
- Approximately two years or more of professional experience in software, data, platform, DevOps or infrastructure engineering.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience owning a deployment path end to end, including troubleshooting failures and writing runbooks.
- Willingness to work across data engineering, backend systems and infrastructure, and to use AI coding assistants critically.
Required skills
- Python and SQL.
- CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
- Docker and familiarity with cloud concepts, particularly AWS; SageMaker is not required.
What we offer
- Annual compensation of EUR 33,000 to 43,000.
- Remote work from anywhere worldwide, with company-funded trips to headquarters.
- Meal vouchers, mental health and fitness support, and an annual learning budget.
- Home office allowance, flexible working with no clock-in/out, and an extra day off for your birthday.
- Career growth program and a team of international colleagues.
