Data Platform Engineer Senior Associate

About the role

The Data Platform Engineer – Senior Associate will ensure the reliability, scalability and operational excellence of Grant Thornton GTech’s enterprise data platform. You will work on production support, automation and standardisation to deliver trusted data products aligned with the Data & Analytics strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable ingestion, orchestration, compute and storage patterns for analytics and data products.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates and modules for rapid onboarding.
• Drive production reliability using SRE practices: monitoring, alerting, SLOs/SLIs, error budgets and automated remediation.
• Implement data quality, observability and security controls, including RBAC, encryption and masking.
• Optimize cost and performance of data warehouses, queries and loads; recommend schema changes and query tuning.
• Manage service, change and incident requests, including major incident response and root‑cause analysis.
• Produce weekly operational reports on service requests, incidents, platform improvements and FinOps metrics.
• Mentor associate engineers and contribute to standards and documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of platform engineering or operations experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Snowflake and strong Python and SQL skills.
• Proficiency with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica IDMC and dbt, and API‑based data ingestion (REST, JSON, XML).
• Experience implementing CI/CD, environment management and information architecture for data platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and enterprise security patterns (RBAC, secrets management).
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
