Director of People & Culture

About the role

Four Seasons is looking for a Director of People & Culture for its hotel in Cartagena, on Colombia's Caribbean coast. The role leads the hotel's People & Culture function, covering talent acquisition, employee development, engagement and retention, and works with leadership to build a high-performance, inclusive culture while ensuring compliance, workforce planning and alignment with Four Seasons standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the People and Culture division, including benefits administration, employee relations, talent acquisition and retention, staff communication, career development, wage and hour compliance, training, workers' compensation and related legal matters.
• Monitor staff performance, review disciplinary actions and recommendations for suspension or termination, and set up a regular performance appraisal program.
• Assess employee development and effectiveness and manpower needs using succession planning, and help management with career planning and counseling.
• Supervise the P&C budget, including benefits, labor and salary reports, and plan cost-effective events within budget.
• Establish recruitment, selection, placement and pre-employment procedures in line with Four Seasons policy and applicable laws.
• Analyze training and development needs and create or coordinate programs that prepare employees for promotion from within.
• Lead the hotel's wellness programs and diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience as Director of People & Culture or Assistant Director of People & Culture, preferably in a luxury hospitality environment.
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, hospitality management, business administration or a related field preferred.
• Proper work authorization for Colombia.

Required skills

• Expertise in HR leadership, employee relations, talent acquisition, learning and development, labor relations and total rewards.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to support workforce planning and budgeting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish.
